It’s never too early to begin teaching children about God
At 30th Ave., we begin classroom teaching at the age of 2. Sue Williams keeps an active group of 2 & 3 year olds on Sunday mornings. The children are taught basic Bible truths, using songs, crafts, and interaction.
“Kindergarten” includes 4 & 5 year olds, taught by Cherrie Cetnik. Each week the lesson is reinforced using songs and finger play, activities, games and crafts. The children are sent home with their handiwork, as well as a leaflet or flyer which reviews the lessons for the parents, and provides further reinforcement of the theme for the week.
Our goal is to provide these children with the assurance of God’s love for them, using the “basic Bible stories” that we all grew up with. This is where they learn those old familiar songs such as “Jesus Loves Me.”
Two-year-olds are taken to the nursery after Sunday School, for a much needed time of “R ‘N’ R”, and the three-year olds join the 4 & 5’s for morning worship. This time is designed to reinforce the material from Sunday School.
Mini donuts are provided at the start of Sunday School for those arriving “hungry”, snacks & Juice are provided during the worship service time, and lots of love and hugs are given throughout the morning!
Our class is a blast! We begin each Sunday morning with an exciting Sword Drill challenge, racing to find Bible verses for a special prize given each semester. We study relevant topics for today's pre-teens and young teens, including honesty and integrity, social and relationship issues, and God's guidelines and purposes for us, all from Scripture. The theme this semester is "Going Against the Flow."
This class is designed for students from 8th Grade to 12th Grade. We study God's Word through discussion and scripture reading.
Bro. Maddy teaches the 9:45 Bible study class called the Ambassadors. The class is attended by those from age 30 to 60. Sometimes younger age students will attend with their parents. Our class is located behind the double glass doors on the right as you walk down the covered walkway leading from the parking lot. This class is fun loving but also serious when they need to be. One class member brings an assortment of doughnuts every Sunday and makes fresh coffee. Another brings an ice chest with water and sodas for those who don’t drink coffee. We are a friendly group of folks that willingly welcome new comers.
